The radial maze has been used for some time to examine the spatial memory and foraging behavior of different rodents. This module demonstrates the different aspects of testing behavior involved with the radial maze. The student can be the rat in either a free or forced choice testing procedure. Their choice behavior is then scored according to the several classic dependent variables employed with this task. In addition, you can perform a simulation of different types of choice behavior using an imaginary 'stat rat'. The module also allows you to examine and understand the effects of different types of maze rotation on behavior.
