How to be the Dynamic Bird

This frame set will present animated examples of the different RSVP test conditions used in this experiment. Simply choose among 1 of the 9 test conditions and 1 of the 4 frame rates in the frame to the left and click on the "Be the Bird" button at the bottom of that frame. This frame will then be replaced by a display that approximates this condition. When you finish, try another combination of options and click the button. This animation has worked on all the machines I tried, except PCs running Netscape Navigator 3.0. In those cases, I have found that you need to press the submit button twice to start the animation. Note that these examples are smaller than those used in the experiment and use a smaller set of colors and target locations. For some of the displays (mostly the six item ones) the initial download times depend on your connection speed. If you don't see blinking at first, give it a moment and the appropriate rate should start briefly. When you are done, click on the home page link in the left frame.
